NMTA prize boat
In 2013, the Northwest Marine Trade Association is again giving away a fantastic prize boat. All of our derby participants will be entered in the NMTA drawing. Please note that all aspects of the boat giveaway are under the control of the NMTA. We simply submit your name and contact information, and hope that one of our anglers wins the boat! Please contact NMTA for details.
Here is a picture of the 2012 boat, which we understand is the same basic boat offered this year:
Below is information about the 2011 prize boat, which is also similar. NMTA’s Tony Floor had this to say about the 2011 boat:
Okay, salmon Derby Series fans…….meet the new grand prize boat for 2011. One lucky angler will win this $60,000 boat at the Everett Coho Derby in late September. However, as we discussed in our annual NW Salmon Derby Series meeting a few months ago at Elliott Bay Marina, I will keep the boat and provide it for display at the Einar Nielson-Becky Barr Salmon Derby at Roche Harbor in later September, the Bayside Marine Salmon Derby in early November and finally at the Resurrection Salmon Derby in Friday Harbor the first weekend in December. Then, the winner can claim the grand prize boat.
I am extremely pleased how this boat package came together. It is a 21-foot River Hawk, built in Medford, powered with a 225 Suzuki 4-stroke. It is a rocket ship! I am working on a 9.9 kicker with Suzuki and remain optimistic I can pull it off. The boat sits on a galvanized tandem axel trailer, thanks to Karavan Trailers and Trailer World in Vancouver. Lowrance electronics has provided a vhf and an HDS-10 high def gps/depth sounder with Broadband radar. It is awesome. And, finally, Scotty downriggers donated their new high-tech electric downriggers. Dude, this boat is ready to rock! It is a killer package and some are saying it’s the best package yet.
The boat will be on display at the Seattle Boat Show…. Looking forward to another great NW Salmon Derby Series now entering our eighth year. Welcome aboard and buckle up!

(Please note that all aspects of this boat give-away, including all state compliance issues, are the responsibility of the Northwest Marine Trade Association. The Gardiner Salmon Derby Association enters all Olympic Salmon Derby ticket holders into the NMTA drawing as a courtesy.)
Some more pictures of the boat are shown below.
Here’s what Tony Floor had to say about it earlier:
The 2011 NW Salmon Derby Series grand prize boat…will be on display at the Seattle Boat Show, Jan. 21-30 before attending all of the derbies in the 2011 NW Salmon Derby Series. It will be outfitted with a Suzuki 4-stroke 225 outboard motor, along with the new high-tech Scotty downriggers and complete Lowrance electronics, including radar. This 21-foot boat, represents the 10th boat I have awarded in the last 7 years, to one of your lucky anglers, participating in one or more of the derbies in the NW Salmon Derby Series. I think it is a killer package and get ready to witness salmon anglers, licking the paint right off this boat. It is awesome. I can’t wait to begin teaching it when and where to fish in your back yard! Estimated retail value will be around $50,000. Good luck and welcome aboard the 2011 NW Salmon Derby Series!
