Appreciation Dinner Plans

After the derby, the Gardiner Salmon Derby Association holds the Corporation’s annual meeting, at which the public is welcome. The meeting is held at the Gardiner Community Center, and is followed by the community’s Salmon Derby Appreciation Dinner.

UPDATE 2/3/12: The 2012 Appreciation dinner is now scheduled for the 5th Saturday, 3/31. Check back for details. The dinner is normally held on the third Saturday in March.

The dinner is a potluck meal that honors the volunteers who make the derby happen. Attendees are mostly from the Gardiner and Diamond Point area, but everybody who is involved with, supports, or enjoys the derby is welcome.

The centerpiece of the meal is donated salmon. Everybody should bring a side dish, dessert, salad, appetizer, or similar potluck fare. There is usually live music and always a good time. Because space is limited, visitors from outside the area should let us know so we can be sure there is enough room.
